As a reminder, the guild's weekly hunt is tomorrow night(Thursday) at 9pm EST. Meet up at the guild tower ready for action! Please arrive on time and prepared for some fun, waiting 20 extra minutes while someone grabs bandages or regs or a horse, etc. can get old! This is a guild-only event, although prospective members are welcome to participate.
In other news, Publish 29 is just around the corner. Already, the new Origin shard has received the publish which includes many bug fixes and a few combat tweaks. Read the complete list of Publish 29 changes at UO.com.
Lastly, the often chatty guild messageboards hosted over at UO Stratics are still offline for emergency maintenance. Jhariden, the Stratics Network Administrator has posted an official message in regards to this:
| Due to problems with our boards server, we have been forced to do an emergency move to a new one and this takes time when involving so much data and DNS changes. The new server is not located in the same data center as the original. It takes anywhere from 24 to 48 hours (if not longer) for the DNS to propagate all by itself. So with that, we still hope to have it all up ASAP. Stay tuned.

![]() taking careful aim | A varied field of participants gathered in the Red Wolf Cafe in Gyldenfeld Friday night for a round of darts. The tournament was jointly hosted by the Fellowship's own Hyssmaye Erley and Magni who graciously donated prizes. Among the contestants was The Dart Champion John Duke("all one phrase"), noted thrower of sharp pointy things. After the initial round in which the field narrowed by elmination to just 3 contestants, the competition grew increasingly tense. As the scores narrowed, John Duke seemed on the verge of yet another dart victory with just one contestant left. The final entrant stepped up and after two of his three throws he was still behind John Duke. With a small breath and a steady hand, Forster Himmel drew back and let loose his final dart - a near bullseye! |
The 20 points leapt him past John and secured the win! The show of sportsmanship was triumphant and the crowd broke into applause as Forster collected his 50,000 gold for the victory. When asked about what may have contributed to his stunning last throw win, Forster merely replied "Prayer". Special thanks goes out to Hyssmaye and Magni for hosting this enjoyable event at the cafe.
As a reminder, don't forget that tonight is FEAR FACTOR Hunting night at the Red Wolf Cafe. Starting at 8pm EST, this monthly event is hunting to the extreme. Hosted by the fabulous Xotche of Meade[TDA], she will lead the brave band who dares to show up at the cafe on an exciting, dangerous and challenging hunt. Be prepared for anything, it's not called FEAR FACTOR Hunting without reason!

![]() Minsk extending a personal invitation at the Red Wolf Cafe last week |
PaxLair will hold its 7th Anniversary on Wednesday, January 19, 2005, starting at 8PM ET until about 11PM ET.
Events will start in Malas at the PaxLair Auditorium (Malas large orc fort). Xotche of Meade[TDA] has organized the Gyldenfeld group to travel to the festivities departing the Red Wolf Cafe at 8pm EST sharp! Here is the schedule of the evening's events: 8:00 PM EST - Malas Outpost Auditorium - plenty of toasting and revelry as things warm up - There is a wonderful pub on the first floor of the Auditorium and a dreadfully furnished orc cemetary and orc fort nearby. All are welcome to mingle, catch up with old friends, meet new people, and enjoy the fine wines and ales from around the Realm! |
8:30 PM EST - Malas Outpost Auditorium - Opening Ceremony and Speeches - hosted by Mayor Minsk, the auditorium should be packed with seating to accomodate more than 50 people.
9:00 PM EST - Dragons Watch Town and Tokuno Outpost - Events, Tours, and Adventures - Gates will be provided to Dragons Watch on Felucca and the PaxLair Outpost on Tokuno. These two choices are given for those who want to see either or both places and participate in slightly different events. Dragons Watch will host a net tossing on the nearby high seas. The Outpost in Homare-jima, Tokuno will offer a tour of the outpost buildings and attempted discussions with the nearby Ronins.
10:00 PM EST - PaxLair City - Final Speeches, Massive Gathering, and Tournament - In the full spirit of historical PaxLair, now 7 years old, all are invited to assemble at the PaxLair Twin Towers for as large a gathering as possible. The Mage/Paladins Tower was the first tower placed in PaxLair on January 19, 1998. A final celebratory speech from the Mayor will christen the celebration. After the speech, PaxLair will likely host tours of the City and a small tournament in one or more of the PaxLair arenas.
To get to the event, Rune books exist at each of the PaxLair locations and also probably in many of the player towns.
PaxLair Anniversaries tend to bring a wide variety of people together at one time. Be on your toes, as the orcs may show up or other nasties.
For more information and directions to PaxLair and its outposts, visit PaxLair.com.
As with all events that may include Felucca, be on your guard for reds. PaxLair makes no warranty of safety.

The Fellowship of Virtue's guild forums, hosted by UO Stratics at Stratics.com, are still offline. While the main public forums have returned to service, the guild boards are not yet ready. Hopefully they will be available again within the next day or two.
Also, as a reminder, PaxLair will be holding it's 7th anniversary celebration Wednesday evening beginning at 8pm EST. The schedule of events are listed below. Don't miss this special event as Chesapeake's oldest player-run town(and one of the oldest of all the shards) celebrates it's 7th birthday!
Thursday January 20, 2005
Publish 29 to Chesapeake has been delayed until Thursday(today). The publish is expected to happen at 1pm EST and last one hour. Click here to see the complete list of Publish 29 changes.
Due to login server problems and the publish that was supposed to happen yesterday, PaxLair has postponed their 7th Anniversary celebration until next week. From the PaxLair website, PaxLair.com:
| "Due to the overwheming invasion by Ettins, Lizardmen, ratmen, ogre lords and others in the City of Britain, and the fact that many people could not enter the realm this evening, PaxLair has postponed the Anniversary until next Wednesday January the 26th. Times of the events will be the same." |
As a reminder, when traveling to Felucca, be on your guard for murderers, especially in player gatherings as they sometimes attract the attention of such people.
Also, tonight is the Fellowship's weekly guild hunt, beginning at 9pm EST at the guild tower. All guild members and prospective members are invited and asked to come prepared for an evening of adventuring.
The Red Wolf Cafe will be the meetup place of Friday evening's Ice Fishing Derby hosted by Xotche of Meade[TDA] beginning at 9pm EST. There will be competition fishing as well as other seabourne fun. A nice prize will be awarded for the largest fish caught! Don't forget your fishing pole and your lucky fishing lure!
Saturday January 22, 2005
Weekly(in some cases biweekly) guild hunts are now being planned informally to visit a variety of hunting spots, some more difficult than others. These hunts are open to prospects also, and are a good way to gauge everyone's group hunting skills, and meet new people as well!
Thursday evening, a group of five *V* members; joined by prospects Dark, Kimmy, and KeaDan; met at the Guildhall. It was decided to hunt Balrons, and so after gearing up we headed to dungeon Hythloth.
Kimmy provided runes directly to the two Balron areas, and we visited both. Balrons and Gargoyles spawn very quickly in Hythloth, and were quickly dispatched as they appeared, with minimal player death. Over 140,000 gold was earned, and split between participants!
While talking at the Guildhall afterward, it was decided to have a treasure hunt next time, since at least 4 of us have Level 6 maps to do.
Thanks everyone!
Monday night the Cafe is featuring a new event, hosted by Templar Kefka.
The Hunt For The Weaver Maiden is a Samurai Empire themed event and dressing accordingly is encouraged! A variety of themed clothing will be available at the event at no charge. A map to the Cafe is available in the website's Community section.
See you all there!

Xotche[TDA] will be hosting a giant snowball fight tonight at the Red Wolf Cafe beginning at 9pm EST. Bring your pack full of snowballs and be ready for battle!
Tip: With multiple snowballs in your pack, you can throw more often. Also, by moving snowballs into another bag or container within your pack, you can temporarily render yourself a non-target.
