The guild tournament for September was held high on a rooftop in the Paladin's city of Trinsic.
7 contestants faced off for the chance to fight the current champion, Masamune.
After a series of fierce battles, which showed how much progress everyone had made, Kara once again earned the chance to battle for the championship!
Kara and Masamune faced off the next day on the same rooftop.
She withheld his opening assault, and did a good bit of damage of her own, but in the end, with a flurry of spells, Masamune once again proved victorious, earning the title for yet another month!
Good fighting, everyone!

Sunday night a group of guildmembers were joined by prospects Sven, Jadin, Demonslayer, and Rosalind for an exciting bagball game!
The bagball stadium near Gyldenfeld, managed by Faust DeBarder of KCR, hosted the action.
The game was new to many of the players so a quick tutorial was held by Jon, and then the games began!
Yellow and blue faced off across the field from each other with much good-natured ribbing of the opposing players.
Since players were switched thoughout to give everyone a chance to be teammates, there was no clear winner, so Kara presented all particpants with a check for 10,000 gp!
Thanks Kara for hosting a fun evening!

Last Friday a large group of fisherfolks and fighters set out from the RWC for a fishing trip, hosted by *V*'s own Rahvin.
Skies were fair, and gentle waves rocked the boat as line after line was cast. As each area was fished out, dozens of sea serpents were drawn up from the deep and quickly dispatched!
An MIB contest was also held, with each participant putting in 10,000 gp, winner take all! The winning fisherperson was Z'Laily, who fished up 7 mibs!
After a few hours of fishing, tossing nets, and good conversation, the group headed for shore, a little sunburnt, a little the worse for ale, but all agreeing that it was a lot of fun!
Thanks to all who attended and especially to Rahvin for being a great host!

The Chronicles and the Calendar are now on the Database. My Data Entry skills are sub par so if you a see a mistake for the Calendar Page for this month ICQ me. Past Entries on both sections will take me a while to get uploaded. If you are looking for old news or old event dates, hang in there. I will get them up in a few weeks. The Virtue Page is the last thing I need to convert, and I need to make more tools for Lissa and Tancerd.

![]() bodies pile under KCR defense |
The Keepers of the Crimson Rose[KCR] and the Fellowship of Virtue[*V*] played Storm the Castle tonight at the Hidden Fortress. In the first 20 minute game, *V* spent most of the round attempting to penetrate the defenses, only finally swarming in with 2 minutes remaining in the game to capture the objective item. Kara found the item and made good her escape. The defense KCR put up was extraordinary!
In the second round, with the teams switching sides, KCR managed to penetrate both layers of defense in under 10 minutes with good teamwork and also managed to extract the objective item. |

Much was discussed at our midmonth meeting for October.
Hunt tactics were discussed, and plans were made for more guild-only hunts.
Rahvin and Gul'Dan will now be running the guild vendors! Thanks to them for this. Look for a variety of quality items to be sold.
After guild matters were run through, two honorable players were brought forward and invited to join us! They both accepted the invitation, so we say Welcome to *V* to Lucinda and Sven!

Tonight a Dungeon Escape event was held by Kara!
Naked and defenseless a group of stalwart individuals were gated to the bottom of 3 dungeons. Their task: get out alive, and quickly!
After many deaths, some close escapes and much good-natured teasing, the points were tallied.
Cooperclies was the winner! He took home 50,000 gold pieces for his effort.
Congratulations!

Tonight a large group of guild members and friends gathered for an evening's hunt, led by Yanni.
Since there were 16, it was decided to split into two hunting parties, one led by Yanni and one by KrissyZM.
The party headed over to Daemon Temple, where it became quickly clear a greater challenge would be needed!
At this point the two parties went their seperate ways, with one group heading to the Shadow Wyrms in Destard, and the other going to slay the Succubi in Ilshenar
A good and profitable time was had by all!

As told by: The *V* Journalist
This reporter had the good fortune (i.e. I wasn’t doing anything else) to attend *V*’s monthly Archery Contest. And what a contest it was!
Ten contestants gathered at the Haven archery buttes to test their mettle and their bows against each other for a grand prize of 100,000 gold and one of the fabled paragon chests. As is usually the case for *V* Archer Nights, the contest was hosted by the lovely Niallis, who was assisted by the rather dashing young man dressed to the nines in red, offset with a gleaming white tunic to go with his brilliant smile. Niallis introduced this handsome stranger as IIfer the Red.
Niallis announced the rules of the contest, which this reporter won’t bore you with, but suffice it to say that there would be two preliminary rounds with each contestant taking five shots at the archery butte in each round, the four contestants with the highest total scores would then proceed to a final round. During the final round, each contestant would be given another five shots and the contestant with the highest score from the final round would be declared the winner.
Niallis then turned the contest over to IIfer, who announced the order of the contestants who then each demonstrated their skill … or lack thereof. As resplendent as IIfer’s garb was, his attempts at humor during the contest were as bad … awful in fact, but that is just from this reporter’s perspective. Then again, judging by the barely contained groans of the contestants, it may also have been the opinion of more than just this reporter. Hey, this reporter doesn’t pull any punches … or in the case of this evening’s events, any arrows. Speaking of arrows, they were flying fast and furious as the contestants demonstrated nerves of Valorite during the preliminary rounds … and most were even hitting the target!
Speaking of competing, after the preliminary round, Niallis briefly reminded the contestants of the rules for the final round while IIfer tallied the scores. IIfer then announced the finalists, which were, in no particular order: TaborCatKiller, FruitLoop(*V*), Shavanna(*V*), and HulkingGoblin(KSS). Being the investigative reporter that I am, I managed to steal … er … review, a copy of the score sheet, but unfortunately, was not able to uncover any juicy score scandal to report.
After the four contestants arrows flew, IIfer again tallied the scores and was ready to announce the winners. Unfortunately, at the time this story was due to the presses, this reporter was unable to obtain a copy of the tally sheet, but, being ever so vigilant to bring you the unopinionated truth, be sure that a score scandal story will break soon, if our subscriber counts fall … er … I mean, if uncovered, of course.
Finally, after much number crunching, IIfer announced the contest winners as follows:
In fourth place, and winner of 10,000 gold – Shavanna
In third place, and winner of 25,000 gold – TaborCatKiller
In second place, and winner of 50,000 gold – FruitLoop
And the grand prize winner of 100,000 gold and a paragon chest – HulkingGoblin
A hearty congratulations to all the winners!

Eight contestants stepped up to to battle it out for the chance to challenge Masamune, the Guild Champion.
In his very first tournament, Sven did very well, advancing to the third round to face Lissa in match that decided who would fight Masamune.
Despite a strong opening flurry, he was soon defeated by Lissa, who then faced off with the Champion.
The championship match saw Masamune defeating Lissa, and retaining his title as Guild champion!
Congratulations Masamune and well done everyone!

As told by Azeroth:
That night was like no other night.
The difference was not the mixture of testosterone and estrogen which was rampaging through the air. No. There was no guild hunt. No. Tonight's change was in that sweet smell of victory. That night's event was the Battle of the Sexes hosted by Xotche and Azeroth.
If you're not familiar with this game, men and women are separated into teams. The genders are then asked questions dealing with the opposite sex.
The men--who had a little trouble gathering team members--were defending their title from last month as the superior sex.
Xotche and Azeroth started releasing the questions; some of them were answered enthusiastically, while others were passed or answered incorrectly. The teams' scores were neck-and-neck the whole match with the gentlemen trailing only by a few.
In the final round, the ladies pulled ahead with a triumphant victory. The ladies scored 36, and the guys--just barely behind--had a score of 32.
After the match, the teams shook hands and that month's Battle of the Sexes winners were declared the ladies.
Congratulations ladies on a match well fought! I'd like to give a special thank you to Xotche for continuing this event.
Join us next month to see who breaks the tie.
