News
The next Red Wolf Auction House's auction will be sometime in October, 2004. When an exact date is chosen, it will be announced on both UO.com(under Community events) as well as Ultima Online Stratics(under the Chesapeake news section).

Whether you're in the market for a good deal on a rare or hard to find item, or looking to sell your goods or items in a competitive bidding atmosphere, the Red Wolf Auction House is the best place to buy and sell great items. Auctions are conducted in an organized, secure and businesslike manner by a trained and reliable staff.

House Rules
The House Rules were created to keep the auction running smoothly and to help make it an enjoyable experience for all.

  1. All citizens of the realm are welcome in the Auction House as guests.
  2. Guests who fight, cast spells(aside from In Lor) or otherwise disrupt the auction will be warned by Auction Staff. If they persist in disruptive behavior, they will be removed.
  3. No pets or NPC's are allowed within the Auction House. They are best left at a town stable. The Auction House does provide stabling, but space in the stables is limited and no guarantees on safety against the local wildlife are given(the occassional bat may appear). Also, too many pets in the auction house stables contributes to lag for everyone.
  4. Guests who make false bids(either as a joke or inability to pay) will be removed from the premises to preserve the integrity of the auction.
  5. All Guests are encouraged to enjoy themselves and have a good time at the auction, but to take extensive socialization and chatter out of the auction house.
  6. If you have a question or concern, please feel free to approach a member of Auction Security. They will be uniformed for the auction and display the *V* guild abbreviation.

Selling Rules
In order to facilitate a smooth and timely auction, the Selling Rules have been carefully developed with an emphasis on security, effectiveness and organization for persons wishing to have their items auctioned(sellers). Currently, the Red Wolf Auction House charges a 10% commission for each item successfully sold.

  1. To have your item(s) up for auction, you will need to place them in a bag along with a book. The book must contain your character's name, your ICQ number and, optionally, a minimum bid price(listed by item if you are submitting more than one item).
  2. You must meet with either of the Auction Brokers(currently Tancred RedStar or Lissa Eldi) and give them the bag containing the aforementioned book. This meeting can either be arranged via email, ICQ or by coming to a designated Item Submission event. The Item Submission dates and times will be posted in advance of the auction date. Currently, due to the amount of organizational overhead, we cannot accept items for auction outside of the Submission times unless prior arrangements have been made. VERY IMPORTANT - the Auction Brokers MUST display the *V* guild abbreviation, otherwise there is an excellent chance someone is trying to steal your items.
  3. Once they have examined your items and made sure there is a book inside(you are responsible for having the correct ICQ number and character name in the book), you will be given an Auction Lot Number for each item. Within 24 hours, your Auction Lot Numbers and the items they represent will appear on the Auction Item Catalog which can be viewed at the Fellowship Of Virtue's website under the Red Wolf Auction House section.
  4. The Auction Brokers reserve the right to refuse items based on low merchantability(+2 Fencing ring, 10 fishsteaks, etc.) or other criteria(no exploit items, no faction items, no fake rares - i.e. "box of cigars").
  5. The Auction Item Catalog lists all the items to be auctioned at the next, upcoming auction and allows potential buyers to see what items may interest them and the auction order of the items so they don't have to wait through the entire auction to bid on a certain item. The Auction Item Catalog does not show who the item's owner is, nor the opening bid price(if any). The opening bid price will be announced at the time when the item actually comes up for auction. The Auction Item Catalog will be finalized the day before the date of the auction, at which time no more items may be added to it. The word FINAL will be both at the beginning and end of the Auction Item Catalog to indicate that all items to be auctioned have been included and that no more will be added.
  6. Once the auction date arrives, the public auction will take place at the Red Wolf Auction House. Gates will be continuously provided to there from the Trammel locations of Britain, Skara Brae and the Red Wolf Cafe starting 30 minutes before the auction and up to 15 minutes after the auction has started. For those who need to leave and come back, a rune vendor will be stationed outside the auction house selling marked runes for a modest fee.
  7. When the auction starts, the Auctioneer will announce the Auction Lot Number and what the first item in the Lot is(if there are multiple) as well as the opening bid price(if any). Please see Bidding Rules for more information on the Bidding Process.
  8. When the item is sold, an Auction Agent will take the item out of the secure Display Area and meet with the high bidder for payment. Meanwhile, the Auctioneer will continue on to the next Auction Lot.
  9. After the auction has ended, there will be a short period of time while the auction house staff calculates commission, creates payment checks and organizes the payments to the sellers. This will take approximately 30-45 minutes at a bank, depending on the number of Auction Lots. Please be patient while this work is being completed. Once the work is done, the Auctioneer and Auction Agent will return to the Auction House and distribute the payments to the original item owners according to their Auction Lot Number. If you are not present for this, you will be contacted via ICQ to arrange for later transfer, but it is highly encouraged that you remain at the Auction House for the payment distribution. You MUST collect the gold as the character you initially submitted the item for sale with AND will be confirmed via ICQ before the exchange is made. We will not release the gold to anyone else or without ICQ confirmation. Period. These measures are for your protection. Any unsold items will be returned at this time as well. Top Sellers may be eligible for special benefits to be determined for future auctions.

Bidding Rules
To expedite bidding and keep the auction running smoothly and in an organized fashion, the Bidding Rules have been developed with organization, security and convenience in mind for bidders(buyers).

  1. When an Auction Lot comes up for bidding, the Auction Lot Number and the item it identifies will be announced by the Auctioneer. If a mimimum bid has been set by the item's owner, it will also be announced at this time.
  2. Once bidding begins, bid increments must be in at least 1,000 gold increments(1K).
  3. To place a bid on an item, you must say the full amount of your bid, not an incremental amount you wish to raise it by.
For example, an item comes up for bid with a price of 40,000 gold(40K).
You wish to place a 1K bid on the item, raising the total to 41,000 gold.
Acceptable Bid Say "41,000" or "41K"
    Unacceptable Bid "1,000" or "1K"
Only bids in an acceptable format will be counted.
  4. When the Auctioneer thinks an item has neared it's highest bid price, he will indicate the auction for a particular item is about to end by saying "Going Once, Going Twice, Sold" in that order. The first two phrases(Going Once and Going Twice) indicate the item is about to close bidding, but bids may still be made. However, once the Auctioneer has uttered "Sold" the auction for the item has ended and no further bids will be accepted. Please do not delay if you intend to place a bid near the closing of an item's auction. If a bid is made in the closing seconds, the Auctioneer will restart his closing phrase after a short time. The Journal of the Auctioneer is the official record with regards to timing of bids and their acceptance when closing an auction lot.
  5. If you are the high bidder at the close of an auction, meet with the designated Auction Agent to make payment. Verify the person claiming to be the Auction Agent is the correct person(the Auction Agent will be named at the beginning of the auction and will display the *V* guild abbreviation). All payments must be made with gold checks and in exact amounts(no change can be provided). If you need to visit a bank to get a check, please do so expeditiously. An NPC vendor will be stationed outside the auction house selling runes to the auction house for a modest price you need one. The Auction Agent is not responsible for providing gates, reagents or other transportation means or supplies.
  6. To make payment, give the Auction Agent a check for the correct amount in a trade window first. The check must not be in any sort of container nor must you attempt to trade any other items. Attempts to do so will be rejected and Auction Security will be alerted.
  7. Once the Auction Agent has verified the payment, the item will be placed in the trade window and the exchange completed. At this point you are encouraged to bank or otherwise secure the item. Of course, you are most welcome to return inside and continue participating in the auction as well. Top Buyers may be eligible for special benefits to be determined for future auctions.

The Red Wolf Auction House was created in an attempt to bring together buyers and sellers of all kinds of items on the Chesapeake shard in a fun, exciting, secure and organized setting. All commissions the auction house makes are placed into the Fellowship Of Virtue's Guild Treasury which in turn helps fund public events at the Red Wolf Cafe, usually every Monday night at 9pm EST.
