Regatta Courses
![]() | Fire and Ice - Begins off the southern tip of Ice Isle(properly known to cartographers as "Dagger Isle") and stretches northeast and up along the eastern side of Fire Isle before crossing over the top and descending south along the western side and then back across the sea to round the western side of Ice Isle again to the finish line where the race began.
This race course includes extremes of the hot, tropical Fire Isle and the frozen terrestria of Ice Isle. Perils include open water navigation, stormy seas(server lines) and dangers if shipwrecked on Fire Isle(daemons, dragons, etc.).
Difficulty: 2 |
![]() | Ring of Fire - Named as a tribute, this course begins on the Magincia Docks and then curves slightly southeast towards Fire Isle. Rounding the island from the east side, a Light Ship is anchored off the southeast coast in lieu of a lighthouse to warn mariners lest they be shipwrecked and stranded on a very inhospitable island(no towns, wandering dragons, daemons, etc.).
The Light Ship(general location marked by an X on the map) will serve as a race marker/checkpoint and it's precise coordinates will be given out at race time. Racers will need to pass by the ship and make note of it's name before continuing west along the southern edge of Fire Isle and turning north back towards the Magincia Docks to complete the course.
Difficulty: 2 |
![]() | Moonglow Tour - Race begins and ends at the Telescope, starting with a northward course. This peaceful city of magic and commerce is an excellent course to sail around for first time boat racers. Little to no spawn, a few bays to lead the inexperienced off course.
Difficulty: 1 |
![]() | Skara Express - Begins off Skara coast and ends at the east dock in Britain harbor. A well traveled route from the days when overland travel was perilous and citizens took to the seas for safe(r) passage to the capital city of the realm. Some spawn near Trinsic, a few islands to disorient the unwary mariner, crowded harbor to navigate near the finish in Britain.
Difficulty: 2 |
![]() | Thread the Needle - Begins off the dock in Jhelom and winds past the southern islands towards Serpent's Hold where it turns up the eastern coast of the island and then "threads the needle" as it passes under the town bridge before heading west towards the walled city of Trinsic where it ends on the docks. Difficulties include some spawn near Trinsic and the southern islands, stretches of open seas and crowded harbor to navigate while threading the needle in Serpent's Hold.
Difficulty: 4 |
![]() | Ride the Serpent - The course begins at the docks, winds south under the bridge, then east around the walled city. The course then passes through the harbor again, past the bridge, then turns west and south around the western end of the island and finally ends back at the docks.
Difficulty: 2 |
![]() | Smuggler's Run - Starting out in the once bustling Minoc, this course winds east past the ore-rich mountains of the northern realm before turning south to follow the coast and then west past busy Vesper and the brutish orc stronghold before it slips into a narrow channel to it's terminus in Cove harbor. In ages past, Cove was a struggling frontier settlement that, for no apparent reason, received little support from the kingdom in it's continual struggle with the nearby orc fortress. Without guarantee of the royal navy for protection, smugglers often brought ore into the small town for a price so the citizens could fashion arms, avoiding the taxation associated with overland travel on the kingdom-maintained roads. To this day, still, no road has been built by the royal government to Cove, yet the kingdom did relent in it's neglect by opening a bank in town. Dangers include many false inlets along the route, aggressive sea creatures, the orc fort itself and a narrow approach to Cove harbor.
Difficulty: 2 |
![]() | In Search of the Ruby - According to lore, Minax traveled to the Tokuno Islands in search of a ruby to rebuild the Gem of Immortality and thereby rule Britiannia. She traveled overland into 'The Waste' at the northern tip of Makoto-jima. Dupre followed her but she discovered him and bewitched him with a spell. Dupre's followers decieded to travel by sea, leaving from the thriving commercial city of Zento, to hunt for the ruby and avoid Minax. This course follows in those footsteps with racers boarding their boats due east of Zento and sailing counter-clockwise around the island, first dodging some small islands and then avoiding a few shallow bays along the way. - created by Magni[*V*]
